Possessing expertise in pediatric and minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Gustavo Stringel has received a number of accolades in his field. Recognized by Marquis Who's Who in America, he was honored as one of the Top 100 Minimally Invasive Surgeons by New York Magazine. The magazine and Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. also named Dr. Stringel as one of the Best Doctors in New York. He is also considered a leading physician in Westchester and Greenwich by Westchester Wag Magazine.
At present, Dr. Gustavo Stringel serves as Surgeon in Chief at the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital. In addition, Dr. Stringel is a Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at New York Medical College. He joined both organizations in 1994.
Dr. Gustavo Stringel is certified by the American College of Surgeons as an Advanced Trauma Life Support Instructor. In addition, he holds the title of Certified Physician Executive from the Certifying Commission in Medical Management. The American Board of Surgery also certified him in surgical critical care, surgery, and pediatric surgery. Dr. Stringel is licensed to practice medicine in Texas, Florida, and New York.
Pursuing extensive research, Dr. Gustavo Stringel has studied renal transplantation and thiamine deficiency at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. At the UT Southwestern Medical School, he researched antibiotics and intestinal and gut growth. In addition, Dr. Stringel studied high blood pressure in the liver at the University of Ottawa Department of Pediatrics.
